It's done. Book Two of the Chronicles of Sui-Denas is finished, and The Far Watch releases on 1 July 2026.

The War in the North was a book about a war. The Far Watch is about what comes after one. Captain Arder Tur Cide is Lord of the Northern Frontier now, with four hundred souls to keep and a wilderness no one has ever charted at his back. When the holdings in the empty north begin to go quiet, he rides east with six people he would die for, over a pass no southern map has ever drawn, and finds a kingdom that has stood watch for five hundred years against a thing the south has never had to name. The watch is failing. And what it has held back is already coming south.

It is grimmer and quieter than Book One, and I think it is the best thing I have written. A book about holding a line that cannot be won, beside people who have been paying that cost since before your grandfather was born.

You can pre-order a signed and personalised paperback from me right now, shipped direct before release day. Kindle and the standard paperback follow on Amazon at launch.

And because I cannot help myself: Book Three, The Last Bridge, is already underway. The watch is not finished yet.

Thank you for reading. It means more than you know.
