The Bread

A quiet morning, before the North

A farm in the southern Duchy. A father kneading dough before dawn. A son dressed for a journey he has never made before, eating honey bread in silence.

The Bread is a standalone short set in the hour before the first Chronicles of Sui-Denas novella begins. Readers of Footprints in the North will understand what this morning means. Readers who have not yet begun the series will meet it in its own time.

Either way, it is yours. Delivered in your choice of PDF, EPUB, or straight in your browser. No strings.

Questions

How often will you email me?

Five emails over your first two weeks, to welcome you and deliver your story. After that, roughly once every few weeks when there is something worth saying. Never more than once a week.

Will you sell or share my email?

No. Your address stays with me and my newsletter provider (MailerLite). It is not sold, shared, or used for anything other than sending you the newsletter.

Do I need to have read the books to join?

Not at all. The Bread is written so that it works whether you know the series or not. If you come back to it after reading Footprints in the North or The War in the North, it will hit differently. That is intentional.

What if I change my mind?

Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you are off the list. No questions.

Who is writing these emails?

Me, Steve. I write the Chronicles of Sui-Denas under the name S. J. Parker. The emails come from my desk, not a marketing team. You can reply to any of them and it lands in my inbox.
